Rules: Bay 7
(Full Auto & Rapid Fire)


USE OF BAY 7 REQUIRES PASSING A QUALIFICATION TEST AND APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

AN IDENTIFICATION CARD WILL BE ISSUED TO MEMBERS AUTHORIZED TO USE FULL AUTOMATIC & RAPID FIRE FIREARMS ON THE TRAINING BAY 

AUTHORIZED FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION

  • Battle Rifles and PCC type Firearms equipped to fire full auto, or that are equipped with Binary, "Hell Fire" type, or crank triggers, or those with bump or slide fire devices.
  • The use of tracer, armor piercing or steel core ammunition is prohibited.

BAY 7 RANGE RULES

  • Only approved LC & SA members can use this range.  Guests are not permitted to use this range, unless being instructed at an organized and scheduled class that has been approved by the B.o.D.
  • MUZZLE DISCIPLINE IS MANDATORY AT ALL TIMES! All muzzles must be kept pointed below the top of the berm. No high muzzle practice will be conducted. All shooting and magazine changes will be from the “low ready” position.
  • All targets must be posted between the berm and the posts marking the 5-yard line.
  • No shooting from behind the orange posts marking the rear boundary of the training range.
 

Qualification Course of Fire for using Pistol Bay 7

  1. Pass Training Bay Certification
  2. Full auto or rapid-fire qualification will take place in Bay 7 with an approved Safety Officer. Full auto and rapid-fire devices will follow the same procedures but are considered two different systems. One system does not qualify for the other.
  3. NOTE – Brief class before shooting
  4. Qualification will take approximately one hour. The safety officer will observe skills, safety, control and accuracy.
  5. Using the B27R target, all rounds are expected to be on paper at 15 yards. 
    1. Magazines will be loaded to 10 rds. Maximum. 
    2. Shooter will demonstrate loading and unloading procedures.
    3. Shooter will be required to engage target with 2rd, 4rd, 10rd bursts; three times each
    4. Shooter will then shoot multiples at Safety Officers discretion (approx. 200 rds.) so the safety officer can observe shooters skill level.
    5. Poor shooter skill, poor safety procedures, lack of control or accuracy will be cause for disqualification.
    6. Shooter may attempt to qualify later with more practice.
  6. After passing qualification, shooter will go back to the Bod’s with safety officer to obtain range card to use designated system in Bay 7. BoD’s has final decision on issuance of card.

What to Bring:

  • Rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition
  • 2-4 magazines
  • Magazine carriers (pockets also work)

SCHEDULE A TEST

 

  • From April through October tests are held the first Saturday of each month. On months where the first Saturday is a holiday weekend the test will be held on the second Saturday.
  • You must register ahead of time to attend a testing day. Registration is limited to the first six people to sign up.
  • The first three people to register will begin at 10am. The second three people will begin at 11am.
  • To register, find the next available day on our EVENT PAGE and complete the registration process.
  • From November through May tests are scheduled by request and dependent on weather conditions. To schedule a test in the off season contact Dave Johnson directly.
